Running
About to do my first interval run (or run of any kind) since the half. A fairly short one. Probably 4 miles. Testing out my gimpy ankles. After today I need to sketch out a running plan to get me to the full in January.
I’ve gained about 12 pounds since Disneyland (!) and lost focus. I’m glad I signed up for the full. It’s the only reason I’m headed back out this morning

For Joel’s pre-race dinner, we ate at Trumbull Kitchen. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Hartford - great food, great service, and a laid-back atmosphere.
During happy hour, they offer tapas for $1.99 each, so I got 4 of them - mussels, pork slider, a kind of steak and sauerkraut, and sushi and fries. Joel ate … some type of Hawaiian fish, bamboo rice, and red onion slaw.
Sorry, I was hoping they’d have their online menu up to date, but they don’t.
So today moving from a second floor to a first floor apartment a few months ago feels like the best decision ever!

Second best half marathon time ever. I’ll take it.
May have overdone it though. Never hurt this bad this soon after a race. A good wake up call for me to train correctly and do what I need to do to make sure I don’t get hurt during the full marathon in January.
Details and pictures to follow in the next few days.

So since setting a PR for a half marathon a few short weeks ago I have put on 8 pounds and not run once. And my next half marathon is, uh, Saturday night! Give me a break, It’s been a rough few weeks!
So we’ll see what happens. Really glad I scheduled this. No matter what it’s going to serve as a nice wake up call for me for my marathon training. That’s in January and I don’t want to back track and have an extra ten pounds on me when that time comes. So if I do well it will inspire me to build on the momentum. If I stumble, I will be reminded that it’s all about the training.
Like last time, my times will be updated on my twitter account or you can track me using the glitchy system set here and track Anthony Giffen. But it is in the evening in the Eastern time zone! Don’t want to wake you!
Keep moving forward!
